Recognised as a leading indicator of business performance, the benefits of effective employee engagement are confirmed by our own research. In a highly competitive employment market, employee engagement leads to increased business performance and lower staff turnover. The survey is not an employee satisfaction survey, instead it measures improvement in engagement.
We have been measuring employee engagement worldwide since 2000 with a voluntary response rate consistently over 96%. In 2006, the survey covered all 56 countries with 97% of employees participating voluntarily. We see this as a significant achievement and a clear indication that employees are committed to improving individual and team performance.
We have seen a continuous rise in both the number of engaged employees and teams since the survey was introduced. We provide team-specific data to each manager, which they use to discuss and develop action plans with their teams to increase engagement. |
